The following excerpt is from Yahoo Sports and The Standard-Speaker.

A mobile billboard traveled through the area Tuesday calling attention to so-called illegal slot machines and skills games.

The folks behind the mobile sign, Pennsylvanians Against Gaming Expansion, are asking people to call a hotline to report these machines, which they say harm children.

"We're here today to draw attention to an issue this community is painfully aware of.

The explosion of illegal slot machines across the state," said Pete Shelly, a spokesman for the group, at a news conference in downtown Hazleton.

PAGE was launched in 2021 by Parx Casino to urge lawmakers to address the unchecked explosion of so-called “skill games” in Pennsylvania, which the Office of Attorney General maintains are illegal gaming devices. PAGE continues to support legislation to eliminate tens of thousands of unregulated, unsupervised, and untaxed games from communities across Pennsylvania. These games can be magnets for crime. They offer no protections to prevent underage gaming and drain hundreds of millions in revenue from the Pennsylvania Lottery.
